Y'all ready to see a 1:3x from a Miata at BW13CW in the next few days? Unlimited RWD record incoming... maybe. Prolly Limited RWD record, also.

The new Miata does look good, have a decent manual, and is alright on paper.

I’ve said it before, the suspension is not my cup of tea but is a very short Ohlins install away from being fantastic.

The car to watch for is the next gen Miata, or next Mazdaspeed Miata. Those power numbers might be inescapable.

That is crazy, crazy fast. I think the quickest Spec Miata time is still over 2 minutes and only a few other Miata's have subbed under 2:00 minutes. I look forward to this!

18-20 seconds faster than any previous Miata? That'd take some doing...

Where was it?

The Fastest times posted were in the AWD class in the low 1:40s and S2000 1:47 and pretty much dominated the RWD class. There was one Miata posting a 1:48 but the others were all well over the 2min mark.

I don't think whatever you're smoking is legal, even in California.

Your data is old, Emilio ran a 44 and Passey a 48 so far. Both are having issues and there are still two sessions to go.

Anyhow, the reason I said we might see records is because Emilio did a 44 last year with less power and less aero. Passey did a 47 earlier this year and improvements have been made since then.

I'm rooting for Tomo too.

I remember when Emilio ran a 1:57 (some time ago now) and that was ridiculous, 1:44 and getting quicker - WOW

But Miata's suck right s2000Junky?

Yep pretty much! But Vanilla ice cream still serves a purpose once in a while.

Emilio blew the motor up after having issues, managed a 44 to win Unlimited RWD. Passey did a 46 in the last session for the Limited RWD / Limited Overall win.
So... I guess so.
