I've never felt motivated to mod my M3, nor my old Cayman S, aside from short shifters in each. You pay a premium, but they're such complete cars from the factory that they're a lot of fun straight off the showroom floor.

Or you can just buy a 700whp MKIV Supra for 45k lol. Sound better imho too.

I agree. My uncle had an older M3 with an exhaust and it sounded nice. But other than I/E theres not much else you can do to it, and no reason too either.

I've been thnking about this same question as of late (just with a slightly different bottom line that I'm comfortable spending). How about looking into a nice gen 2 viper gts 98-02?? Fit and finish isn't quit there but it's very reliable and it's a blast to drive.

Have you driven an Elise yet? If not that is the first thing that you need to do (unless you realy do have your heart set on an NSX).
If you think you might like the Lotus, but have never actualy driven one, you need to drive it. You will either love it, or hate it after a twenty minute test drive, and then your choice will be easy.

Realize a lot of yall prefer coupes over sedans...but maybe i'm just getting old...
I can't think of another car faster (0-60) than the IS350 with the following requirements:
1. V6
2. Sedan (4-dr)
3. N/A
Nicely equipped in low thirties if you don't mind 5-10k miles.

But back to the topic, the IS350 is definately one of the better cars in its class and if my daily wasn't a TL I'd strongly consider the IS350, in my personal opinion its a thousand times the car the G35 sedan is. Have you considered the TL or TL Type S? You can get them in stick and the TL-S is one hell of a car. They tracked it against the IS350 and G35 6MT and it ran a full 2 seconds faster then either of them!!!!!
Pics of said daily. Back when she was stock not so long ago lol.

Interesting that I had the same ~$30k budget decision two weeks ago.
I wanted to get 2007+ Exige S or Cayman S, but a clean one with CPO (extended warranty) make them more like ~$40k.
There are some $35k Cayman S but are not well cared. Since it has to be a street-track car with dealer warranty support, I picked Z4M.
