H2 = a waste of time

I am an AF mechanic so I get to drive the Mil-spec H1's all the time. They are very reliable if you and only if you maintain them properly. I was in Iraq with H1's in 110-120 degree whether and many sandstorms. Anything that can survive there is a beast. You might want to look into getting a Mil-spec H1. There are many ways to go about doing it. You might be able to get one a lot cheaper.

H1 > every other truck/SUV type thing
Let's call it a Humvee then.

agreed. Look for a DRMO auction in your area or at whatever Army/AF base is closest. An ex-mil Humvee is on my list of Jalop worthy cars i want to own in my life.

Buying one from the Marines is like buying an S from a teenager who drag raced it and then used it to teach his gf how to drive manual.

yea a h1 is great if you have full time mechanics on staff and you can maintain and replace parts at will with no regard to cost or anything else.

saying a h1 is better then any other tuck/suv/blah is like saying a hayabusa is better than a vespa

h1 is the waist of time as it will be in the shop more than your garage. do yourself a favor and stay away= speaking from first hand experience

Just get an F-350, Dodge 2500/3500 or GM 2500/3500 with diesel engine and 100K miles. You'll spend similar money, get a far more reliable and usable vehicle, and you'll always be able to fix it without any issues.

You'll look like an idiot driving a hummer especially as there is millions of gallons of oil pouring into the Gulf of Mexico.

Speaking from first hand expierence? How much expierence? I have been working on the Mil-spec H1's everyday for the past 4 years and have nothing bad to say about them. Just curious, what kind of problems have you seen?

^Mil-Spec is just that. It's made to the specifications that the military sets forth. It's much different from the H1 and can't be compared.

I am well aware of that. I specifically mentioned mil-spec in my first post and prnstr40 was calling them out for being unreliable. Make sense?

H1 > every other truck/SUV type thing
LOL. That statement reminds me of something a 6th grader might say while looking at a poster of the thing.

The thing about them is, if you are say in the desert where trail width is not much of an issue they can go many places. If you are anywhere else they are just ****** worthless as they are too wide and too heavy.

I can't think of a dumber work vehicle, well maybe an S2000 or miata. If you need to haul shit and move stuff get a ****** pickup truck. They are built for these purposes.
