Here is some news for the Gen 3 CR-V:
-There will be no more 5MTs made. Only tranny available is 5AT.
-Leather is now available from the getgo. In Gen 1 & 2, leather seating was only available in SE models that were produced after each generation had its respective MMC.
-Navi is finally available; albeit only on the EX models.
-Gen 3 CR-V will be made in America. Gen 1 and Gen 2 were either from JDM or UK.
-New interior features:
Tilt & Telescopic Steering Wheel
Bi-Level Digital Readout Instrument Panel
Center Console with: Floor Shifter
Extra Large Storage Compartment and Cupholders
Variable Intermitent Windshield Wipers
Automatic Climate Control System on EX and EX-L
Daytime Running Lights on EX and EX-L

In terms of its RAV4 competition, the new CR-V doesnt have the big bad v6 or third row midget seat option.
But from my experience (family has 05 CR-V SE), and from what I read from hondasuv.com; those two factors (v6 power and a third row), arent things that the average CR-V buyer are heavily interested in. Anyways, thats what the Honda Pilot is made for.
The main controversey seems to come from the unusual front grill. It is different, but I dont react so negatively towards it as others.

And nope, not excited by it at all. It's still bland, still underpowered, and it has some horrible design executions with the rear window and the front grille/bumper treatment.. all in all, ho hum zzZZzzzz.
