It was a load of Kia Sorentos. I hear that Kia stock actually went up when the news came out.

I read an older article about this ship delivered Mazda, Toyota, Lexus and Mitsubishi cars to Canada.

I read on another forum that the cars were just Mazdas (3 series and that crossover SUV thing).

All the cargo would definitely be insured, so it shouldn't be that big a deal. Loss of goods due to sinking, spoilage and damages to loading/unloading and transport is rather common in the ocean freight industry.
