Bump! I finally scratched the itch to get a classic muscle car, a 65 Mustang. I'm updating the thread with my early Bday present. The car is BADASS. 440-450 HP in a car that weighs less than the S2000 It's fast and loud and NA for now. It's quite the driving experience and very mechanical feeling.. I love it!

Looks mean.
Straight line car only, I would imagine?

agree with a lot of the points about old cars and functionality, but I've got to tout my exception.
My '86 911 has only 207 hp but with driver skills like threshold braking, heel and toe, throttle steer etc at 2700 lbs it can handle with modern cars.
You can hurt your self and your bank balance but its' your responsibility.
Modern cars with nannies are already half way to driverless.
When we come in from a good "workout" and you hear the popping and tinging as it cools off and smell the hot flat six oil and rubber you realize it's as close to a "steed" as we can drive.
That wont get old for many of us

The engine builder shop that originally did most of the mods built it for the 1/4 mile. No AC, No heater no P/S but has full interior. Surprisingly it doesn't handle too bad around town. There's lots of parts out there to get it to handle much better but my plan for the car is to do some light drag racing and cruising around setting off car alarms. To make it a better driver, l'll be adding disc brakes all around as my 1st major modification.

Disk brakes and a few other mods done so far. I have learned quite a bit working on it, which was part of the goal.

I did not care for the rims either when I first saw the car for sale. They have grown on me and look much better in person. I've gotten a lot of complements on them and they are super easy to clean! They will stay for now until I get a set of dedicated DRs to help put the power down.
