TG has always liked Alfas for engines, driving and styling, even if they were unreliable for electronics and fit and finish. Alfa has German management leading it for the past four years or so now though, so maybe quality control is up. Harald Wester is in charge now - he used to manage BMW Ms and Rolls Royces, and most recently Maserati, so he has a good track record.

I love it, this is the S2000 replacement that Honda didn't have the stones to build.
Jacques79 makes a great point though, the proof of this pudding with be in the driving. At the end of the day it doesn't matter how great it looks or what the numbers are on paper, this is a sportscar so unless it drives like one -steering feel/suspension tuning/power delivery- it's won't be worth its salt.
I won't, however, dismiss it just because the Chrysler name is attached to this project. With FIAT's involvement I want to believe that this is more than a PT Cruiser with pretty bodywork.

Chrysler involvement is a deal-breaker. A shame, 1.7L sounds about perfect.

LOL my wife is gonna be smokin mad at me if they build that thing. She's Italian (natualized US citizen) and she thought I was insane back in the 80's when I bought a white Alfetta GTV6 and then a red Milano Verde with a later generation of Alfa's V6. She and her cousin from Switzerland told me to stay the hell away from Alfa's and any other Italian car. I didn't listen. I was right, they were wrong. I really enjoyed those Alfas. They weren't bad cars at all for their time. I wish I still had the Milano. As for throwing Chrysler into the mix, I dunno.....could be a trip right back to the 80's.

I have to admit that it looks uber-cool though.
I'm just afraid that it's going to weigh a lot and have crappy steering, auto-only box and bloated handling-feel.
But that's just mainly due to my huge bias against American cars in general
I hope they prove me wrong.
