oh boy, another nostalgia vehicle...get in line behind the Toyota Land Cruiser (or whatever they're calling it), the VW "beetle", and the BMW maxi Mini...oh, and how can you forget the Plymouth PT cruiser? What's next, the Hudson Terraplane?

The Hornet is a good idea for Dodge. It should sell.
So when Toyota goes retro it's an update. When Ford does retro it's because they have no ideas left.

I like it. Much better looking than that Scion garbage.
It looks exactly like a Scion.

The Mini's engine was part of a joint Chrysler (pre DC) BMW engine venture. I'm not sure what portions of the project were handled by whom. I suspect the project worked out to be Chrysler did the work but got BMW to help pay for it. That's how BMW is getting their future hybrid transmissions. The up shot is that BMW and the Chrysler group (not sure about all of DC) can use versions of this motor. I think BMW is going to design a new motor for the MINI now that Chrysler is part of their rival.

Read reports that this car will be greenlighted soon. At around $10-11k I'm sure this thing will sell plenty well especially with gas prices where they are.

Its ok. Don't hate it, don't love it either.
Why does every car from dodge have to look so butch though? "Sleek" or "elegant" really can not be used to describe anything they put out these days.
