Does anybody miss the days...
I remember the mid to late 80's. Where a RX-7, old Z's, Supra's, Z28's, 944's, Foxbody Mustangs and anybody else who wanted to play the game had fun at the track.
Now you got sub $25k cars that can run circles around them and spend another $25 on top of that and you got a ton more sports cars to choose from.
Not that I'm missing those old 80's cars, but I'm missing that closeness that each was competitive in their own way.
Am I just blowing smoke up my hole, or anybody else remember?

Good thing steve c isn't here, or he'd call you an idiot and tell you that you have no idea what you are talking about, and the most fun car ever is an AWD 400hp 996TT, even if you think it is a 138hp rwd Miata.

Nope. I don't miss the 80s too much.
I miss the 60s, when anybody could afford a powerful car of some kind and gas was cheap so you could drive it like you wanted to. But I was too young to drive back then.
But I don't miss how unsafe they were. No seat belts, no crush zones, no side impact protection. Then again, you could walk on the hood or trunk without making a dent.

I don't know about missing the days when "cars were similar to one another." It just shows how technology improved, that similarly priced cars can be completely different. Like, an SUV can have amazing off-road capabilities and sports car can take turns like no other. A car for anyone, rather than, cars for everyone.

I think these are "the good old days."

I think its funny that the emphasis is once again on power and the gas prices are the highest ever.
