I don't know. I miss my 1972 MGB. Hell, I miss my 1952 MG-TD. They were fun cars. Still, my Civic Si can run circles around them without even breaking out into a sweat.
Gomarlins is absolutely right. These are the "good old days". Cars are better now, at every level, than they ever were.

I don't miss any of those poor performing marginally reliable old vehicles. Although cars cost quite a bit more now than back in the 60's even when inflation is factored ($3,900 in 1962 is $24,000 today so all sports cars have gone up) the cars are much better in every respect. Notable improvements even in the last ten years have me on the side of new cars.. you can keep the 'classics'.

Sigh, I had a Z3 1.9L which was (probably) similar to a 924 or such in power/weight. It was OK but left me completely underwhelmed. Now I haven't driven Miata or Solstice etc... and while these are quicker than the 138-hp Z3, I can't help but think they are similar in that you need more power. Especially today when Camry does sub-7 0-60 mph.
Maybe back in the 80's when Accords were doing 10+ sec 0-60 then a 140-hp RX-7 or 924 (etc..) may have been fun. But I'd have a hard time going back to mid-7s or mid 8-s 0-60 after getting used to the S2000 (sub-6 second 0-60).
Even though the S2000 is not too speedy, it still is quicker than Accord/Camry/Maxima etc..
