Me - at least until it doesn't drive like a Buick.
I would have to agree. A fun Camry is an oxymoron.
This is what happens in a powerful Camry:
You accelerate rapidly until you come to a corner. The car leans over, the Holywood tires begin to squeal, understeer sets in, the steering wheel is lifeless and inaccurate, and when you hit your spongy brake pedal, you get ABS shudder and more tire screeching. Blech...
The Camry is a great car when it's painted metallic gold with a beige interior. You blend in with the rest of the mindless populace, most of whom are driving to work in their gold Camrys with beige interiors, so that they can sit in their beige cubicles, drink bad coffee and do mindless work.
Seriously, I would rather not own a car than own a Camry, but that's just my biased opinion.

well, a 268-hp Camry is still better than a 190-hp Camry...
and for a DD, it's pretty much perfect
but I guess Camry is a bad example. when it's time for a new DD, I'm going for the new 265-hp Altima

Another bad thing is that most people don't realize that it can be more fun to drive a slow car as fast as it can go than to drive a fast car within the normal speed of traffic. Case in point are the early Miatas that may have only been going X mph but always felt like you were doing double that. Too much isolation of the driver from his environment and cheap, easy power really isn't the best recipe for enthusiasts.

I do miss the days when cars werent powerful stock, but in return we got bullet proof platforms to make it into whatever we want. Whatever happened to the 240SXs, CRXs, Talons/Eclipses, etc etc. They don't make them like how they used to.
