Default The first Ferrari Testa Rossa in 1954- was a TR 2000?

In 1954 Ferrari introduced a 4 cylinder car known as the 500 TR. The open top roadster design car was the first testa rossa by Ferrari. This under 2.0 liter engine (1985cc) produced a high hp per liter at 190 hp. The car featured an advanced shifting all synchronized transmission with a dual clutch. A light weight chassis at only 1500 lbs. It also had an important advancement in suspension and chassis handling with Ferrari's first coil spring suspension. The long hood and short rear deck had a very purpose built sports car look. The 500 TR contributed to three world titles over four year period. Current examples sell for between 2-4 million. Only about nineteen were made.

The 1954 500TR

In 1994 Ferrari began planning a limited run of modern 500 TR cars for the 50 year anniversary in 2004. The return of the original light weight 4 cylinder Ferrari. The car had a clear set of must haves to demonstrate the original DNA. Things like light weight, highest hp under 2.0 liter engine, long hood, short rear deck, advanced transmission with world class shifting. They also wanted an advanced chassis; which would be the best in class when compared to any open top vehicle in balance and handling.
Ok... so Ferrari never actually announced a planned a replacement for their rare 500 TR but guess what? Honda did for their S. Sorry Ferrari. I like to think Honda beat them to it. Plus you can now ask your friends to guess what size engine the first Testa Rossa had and you can probably win a beer over that question.

I was watching an auto auction show a couple of weeks ago and this ca was sold at auction for a record $16 million. Do you think if we hold onto hour S2ks for 50 years they will be worth that much???? LOL

Clearly that makes the s2000 related to ferrari. Just like the new boxster is the spiritual sucessor to the s2000, and not of itself.
Because honda thought, yeah remember that ferrari, we should totally make a modern one of that. S2000 name, oh coincidence to the old s roadsters who were chain driven and didnt have 2.0l, no no we are making a modern interpretation of a classic ferrari.

No the Honda is not a ferrari or related to one but I'm just having some fun with some coincidental facts. Just an s2000. We all know.

I'd love to have one of the early Ferrari four cylinders. Specifically one of the bigger fours, 3L or 3.4L I would take either
