Black wheels don't do it justice...

Yeah, great car, but black wheels on a white car make the wheels look small.
I am a fan of gold on white. I haven't seen many (if any) domestic cars with gold wheels on them. Outside of the older Jeep Cherokees.

They are 19" wheels, but I agree the black makes them look smaller. I have about and 70% dislike, 30% like. I like them though.

IMHO, most pictures of cars with black wheels are snapshots in a driveway, so they don't show up very well. You really need a shot with the setting sun behind the camera to highlight the wheels - get the wheels out of the shadows. But since most of use don't drive pictures of cars, it's not much of an issue.

And whatever wheels you have, there will always be people who don't like them.

That's a very nice sedan chassis even without the V enhancements. And the interior is fully competitive these days. That should make a fantastic daily driver. And FWIW, I think you made the right choice with the 6L90 torque converter based transmission for daily use. The blown V8 and automatic should complement each other well with no worries about transmission durability. And GM does make a smooooth automatic.

I work at a GM dealership and had the opportunity to take one of these for a test drive and it surprised the hell out of me. Awesome car! Is your's stick or do you have the paddle shifters?
I got the 6L90E automatic as it's a daily. For the manual tranny fix, I have the Vette. Car also has the ultraview sunroof, Recaro seats, and some dark wood trim package. It's pretty much loaded. Only option I didn't get was the suede steering wheel as I thought it would wear over time worse than the normal leather wrapped wheel. It's a blast to drive. Very smooth with great suspension compliance. The mag suspension is a marvel. Car is much better insulated from road and wind noise than the Vette. Power is very strong almost surpringly so when you're cruising at 30-40mph and floor it. It downshifts instantly and just takes off. Only downside is horrible gas mileage (people normally average 14-15mpg in mixed driving), but I knew that going in. It's worth it to me.

I took off all the V badges, the CTS emblem and dealership emblem. Tint goes on this coming Saturday.

Jon, I will definitely try to get some 0-xxx videos taken and uploaded before too long.
Good choice with the 6L90E! The suede does wear pretty quickly so it's good you didn't go for that.

There was a guy here in Dallas who was running over 700rwhp on the stock 6L90E and I think he was spraying ON TOP of the 700rwhp and the tranmission held up surprisingly well. It's a very stout transmission and I am happy with how smoothly it shifts just cruising around town. Put it in sport mode though and romp through the gears and it shifts very quickly. It's obviously not a DCT or PDK transmission, but it definitely gets the job done.

Drove a CTS-V coupe for a week over the summer when I worked for GM. Was one of the first cars that i was afraid to floor the gas pedal in. Even at 80 mph, when you floor it, the amount of power and thrust is just insane. Congrats man!!!

A buddy of mine just picked up an 09 with 12K on the clock. Has some sort of black diamond package? He also thought it had an intake, brings it to me to check out....turns out is has the Hennessey v600 package on it. Car sounds real nice and goes like a bastard.
Still a long way to match my S4 build quality.
Claims he paid 42 for it.

I bet the S4 build quality probably is a little better than a comparable V, but I'll take a little less build quality for an extra 225hp and torque over the 3.0L supercharged six in the S4. Different strokes.

42k sounds about right for a clean modded '09 V.
