Super nice inside, corners fairly flat for a crossover, otherwise totally over rated car. How they get this much money for the badge I will never know.

I like the look of the car, but there really is no fun driving it. The turbo model is probably way better but the entry level car has a slow transmission and really no excitement in it. It is just a leather and alcantara lined grocery getter. The Mazda CX-5 is more fun to drive.

I have had three people in 20 minutes come to my office and ask about the "super nice Porsche" in my spot. All show, no fun. Great looking, uninspiring car.

Yeah, my wife and I test drove a new Cayenne GTS with the 440hp TT V6 and were both very underwhelmed. Nice ride, great interior, just really boring. Engine was too quiet and not exciting at all. Definitely not worth anywhere near the $110k sticker price. Never been interested in the Macan either, but it does seem to be selling well. Good for Porsche being able to push out "overpriced" Q5's.

Seemed like a decent value (as far as Porsches go) when the base Macan had the 3.0 liter V6 TT. Now that the base model is a turbo 4 cylinder it's really just a pretender with zero excitement.

I am glad I wasn't the only one with that sentiment. I test drove a Macan s in Denver a few weeks ago, and it was a nice car but just not fun. The one thing that was cringeworthy of that test drive was that all of the dealers Porsches were nailed by hail. It broke my heart seeing a new 911 turbo with its rear window blown out and just sitting outside in the rain all hailed out.

Yep, put 7,800 miles on it over 1.5 years and sold it via in and out through the local dealer to another enthusiast for basically what I paid (MSRP) and I have a tax credit at the dealer. I was told I have an October allocation for the new GT3. Looking forward to trying 500hp and 9,000rpm.

I hope Porsche keeps selling a boatload of Macans and Cayennes, keeping them in business to make their sports/GT cars. I had a V8 Cayenne S in 2004-2006 when it had a wonderful rumbly motor, handled better, and was more fun than the competition. But it seems as though others - esp Jaguar - have caught up in the "fun" SUV segment. Still, the dollars make Porsche viable.

Wow... I'm feeling really good about my $244/month lease right now.

Love the look of the Macan. Even mentioned to my wife tthat we should drive one to see if it captured the Porsche feel that I love so much in my Cayman. But at $50k+, it didn't even warrant a test drive in my book.

Hmmm, interesting, I got to chance to take a drive in a base Macan recently and it doesn't sound like we were driving the same vehicle. I thought it handled great, especially since it came with none of the sport/performance options. Pushing it hard into a corner you could feel it oversteer and you could definitely feel the rear wheel drive bias. From a handling point of view, it definitely didn't feel boring. It did have more body roll than I would have preferred and the engine is weak for such a heavy car; fine for getting groceries though. :P Can't comment on pricing, since I'm in Canada.
