Cool. I'd still like to see someone combine a diesel with hybrid technology. You'd get high milage and torque.

and foul emissions. Hooray, diesel :/ Am I missing something, or has someone figured out how to keep diesel tailpipes from spewing death?

Particulate traps. Becoming common equipment. They are more expensive though.

Half of Europe's cars are diesel and they are more environmentally conscience than anyone. The new diesel technology, while not as clean as gas, in the long run is probably better for the environment when taking into consideration the efficiency of diesel.
