If you knew what I paid for my NA that came with a turbo kit, LSD, stand alone, clutch, short shifter, exhaust, etc etc, you'd be surprised.
The bottom line is that people sometimes need to get rid of stuff. This is an unusually good deal but I don't doubt it.
I remember when I was working at the Honda dealership a guy was trading in his 2000 s2000 in late 2001 or early 2002 and he lowballed him at like 19k or so and his response was, "Wow. That's good. I thought it would only be worth like 10 or 11."

what setup was it and if you were to do it would you still go with the turbo or a SC?

The last time I went to a road course I had a Pontiac G8 try to pass me on the straight and I left him pretty easily. Shortly after that a guy in a Mazda Speed 3 tried to pass me when I over steered and went off course into the turn right at the opening to the straight. My steering mistake allowed him to get right next to me. By the end of the straight I was about 4-5 cars or more in front of him and the gap was growing, but I pulled right and let him pass me as he looked as if he had no intention of slowing and I was going to have to turn left, directly into his path. It's fairly quick but I'm not tearing up Z06s or anything. LOL.
If I were to start from scratch (which I may very well start over this summer) I would not have bought this turbo kit (I would have gone custom) but I would definitely go with a turbo.
The guys at Track Dog racing have some quick supercharged Miatas and they swear by it, but the rest of the world leans toward the turbo option. I have never seen a supercharger kit that isn't kind of hokey.

Mr. E.G., just wait until you see my Cosworth S/C - it was developed as a Mazda OEM (MSM?) system until Mazda pulled the plug.
Having owned both a turbo and S/C'd car, I personally think turbos are more fun, but SC's have some advantages for track work:
- no boost lag, more linear powerband
- easier tuning
- and the most important for TX summers, they just run cooler.
But turbos sound cooler and seem to have more power potential per $.

In my NA with my current tire setup, I think that the last thing I need is a more linear power curve. LOL.
I have a hard time putting down the little bit of torque it has at low speeds.
I can't wait to see what your car is capable of with a supercharger.

I wasn't even planning to go FI for the foreseeable future, but I learned that Cosworth put one of their kits on EBay w/ no reserve. I made their opening bid @ $2K, and nobody else bid on it! I almost feel like I stole $2500.

No, the only other NC kit I'm aware of it the Moss Motors one, and it doesn't look or perform nearly as well.

So with basically 2k and 2k
If I remember kindergarten correctly which I do...
You've invested 4k in a car that will outclass almost 90% of cars on the road.
You kind Sir are a winner in my book and I am subscribing to this thread.
