Hmmmmm... very non-Lamborghini. Where are all the sharp lines that are so characteristic of their previous cars from Countach, to Diablo, to Aventador?

I'd say it looks more British. McLaren/Lotus

The back end, straight on, though... also do not like - I agree, very Americanish, and not in a good way.

Its definitely a fresh design, which is something Lamborghini needed. The influence of Volkswagen group is showing. Definitely a reference to the Miura in its profile as well. I like it, I don't go for the hybrid supercar business but I think it is a welcome addition to the lambo lineup.

Here's the part I don't understand, and hopefully someone can explain. The electric motors alone make 300 hp. Yet it can only reach 77 mph in electric mode. My 110 hp Civic will do close to 120 mph. Any 300 hp car will do 155-160 mph. Why is it that this car in electric mode will only do 77 mph, when it has 300 hp? Transmission/gearing is the limitation?

Maybe the car is designed that any speed past 77 will kick in the gasoline motor

Motortrend worded it differently:
t's more than just a nuclear-grade powerplant, though. Like the very similarly designed Porsche 918 Spyder, the Asterion uses powerful computers to vector torque at all four wheels through both the front electric motors and rear hybrid powertrain. On top of that, it can drive up to 31 miles on pure electric power and cruise at up to 78 mph without using the gasoline engine. In Zero mode (EV), only the front electric motors drive the car. Switch to I (for Ibrido, hybrid in Italian) and the V-10 roars to life and teams up with the electric motors for maximum performance. If you prefer to save the battery, though, you can jump up to Termico (Thermal in Italian) mode and run on straight, naturally aspirated, ten-cylinder power.
Looks like it's designed to work like that, it's not that the motors aren't capable of reaching higher speeds.
