Lexus today debuted a new sports car, the Lexus LC500
This new LC is not based on the lesser Lexus RC coupe, but they do share an engine: Lexus’ 5.0 liter, naturally aspirated V8. The failing of this engine is that it’s a little short on torque for an engine its size, with 389 lb-ft at a rather high 4,800 RPM. That said, it makes a good 467 horsepower, revs up to 7,300 RPM and sounds extremely throaty while doing so.
It’s a high-value engine, and now it’s going in a high-value car. Lexus says this LC 500 will start at just under $100,000, though the world will know it as a six-figure car. A new 10-speed automatic, carbon fiber in the door structure and an optional carbon-fiber roof help justify the price, I suppose.

Hm. That doesn't really look like a near $100k (guessing $100K+ once you check any options). Doors forward it looks like any other lexus and doors back it looks like it went on a diet. I don't know. Not my thing.

It looks impressive and gets much closer to a price that people will pay. I wish I owned an injection molding company so I could start making aftermarket front bumper covers and grills for it.

Seems really cool, but more of a fashion statement at $100k+ with 467hp. Really needs a little forced induction to bump it to 550ish hp or so with a good torque bump plus a good suspension/brake set-up and then it would be pretty awesome and something I'd be interested in possibly buying.
Either way, nice new halo car for Lexus.

So I assume that's the FT whosits Supra concept thing that we've been seeing? The one with the pointy nose?
I think it looks awesome. I just know it'll weigh 3,800 lbs.

This pic looks a little better. The hitler stache grill is getting really old. Not even close to being an LFA replacement. The LFA was something truly amazing. Now if that engine made it's way into a car that was closer to the $100k mark rather than being $300k+ that would be a really interesting thing.

It has some beautiful design features but the height of the hood where it meets the windshield, compared to the droop of the side windows, just looks a bit off to me. Aston does this way better, with a (more or less) continuous line from the side window to the hood.
Dem hips, though!
