Default Low mileage AP1 or high mileage AP2

Hi,

I am going to buy an s2k in the next few days. I have owned 2 AP1s before but had to sell. I'm fortunate to be in a position to buy again and there are only 2 real options there for me at the moment (very few for sale in Ireland). A 2004 s2k with 95k miles - very good condition but no hard top OR A 2001 with a hard top and only 30k miles. I always wanted an AP2 but the AP1 is so fresh looking. Would appreciate some opinions please.

Thanks!

Just to add - both are coming in around the same money!

Easy answer if I were in your position. Ap1 with hardtop, especially if its the oem matching hardtop. I almost bought a 40k mile spa ap1 with 5zigen wheels and matching hardtop. One of the nicest cars I've ever seen in person... And it was sitting next to a Ferrari f430 in the showroom.

As much as I prefer an AP2, the way I see this dilemma... 30k > 95k miles.

While these engines will last to over 200k miles, I would definitely prefer to have the nice low mileage of the AP1.

I bought my 2000 AP1 with 95k miles and it ran flawless. Since you have never owned an AP2, I would go for that. A test drive will further answer your question.

AP1 9000 RPM shifts are intoxicating....for me I wanted only an AP1 because of the engine---still the second highest N/A HP/Liter engine out there...

This is a no brainer. Get the lower mileage car. I mean, it comes with a hardtop too, and as you stated, is roughly the same price as the higher mileage car.

The mileage alone makes them similar in price, the hardtop makes it almost a no brainer unkess you're truly set on an ap2.
