Mercedes S430 experience?
Sorry search is broken.
I need a car in Atlanta big enough to haul 4-5 folks around in. I came across a lease deal for the S430 that seams decent. 3000 down + taxes and 599/month for 13 months.
The car seems perfect in terms of size -- and the cost is nice and low (it will be written off anyway .. but) and the term is about perfect.
Does anyone have any experience with the S430?

What year? How many miles? No first hand experience, but from what I've heard you either get a perfect car or a lemon with those. (lots of little electrical gremlins)

New. I went and drove one -- decent. Nothing stellar. I am going back in a couple hours to pick one up -- bank is cutting the check for the full amount, over and done with. PLYRS 3 made a good point. An 80 grand car for 11 grand is a good enough deal.
I Will write a full review and post some pictures later (yeah I know yawn, big boat)

A lot of money.
My guess here is that they are having trouble moving the slower 430's as the lineup is due for a remake next year. The dealer just up the street from me has 7 or 8 on the lot.
The design is from 2000 and it shows -- but at the end of the day it is bigger and nicer than a rental car and will be good for hauling clients around in.
P.S. HID's are an OPTION and more money in an 80 grand car. Uhh.

First 40 mile experience.
The car is quiet, big, comfortable and full of gadgets.
The nav system is okay, not as good as the wifes Land Rovers unit.
The stereo sounds good with a CD and bad with over the air stuff. This seems to be a trend. The 911's stereo is the same, as is the Nakamichi head unit I put in the S2000. Doh.
Overall the car is exactly what my LS400 was, an isolation chamber with room for 5 adults.
Is the merc worth more than an Acura RL or LS400? Eh -- probably not for most people. I figure I am way out of the usual segment for this car being a 30 year old "kid" -- but I do give credit to the dealer who treated me well all the way through -- despite my being in jeans and a T-shirt.
I got the 4matic version by the way. 4200+ pounds and 275hp -- it ain't fast.
