The Genesis did very well, considering it's only the first generation and can be improved thereafter.
And down over 100hp, costing a decent amount less option for optin, and has a 10 year warranty. I still love the 5.0 though, just comes down to your budget.

Challengers are in serious needs of hp upgrades, both the V6 & V8. It is already substantially more expensive than the Camaro or the Mustang. Scuttlebutt has it that next year they are going to a 6.4L Hemi & it will be around 470 hp.
Unfortunately it still won't do a thing to offset the 4200 lbs its carrying around. It's really a shame too. The Challenger is such a great looking car but they didn't do a thing to account for the weight. That thing is going to need closer to 550hp to be even remotely competitive.

The Genesis is here to stay and play. I have had the pleasure of driving the inline 4 and V6, both wonderful cars. When I get back to the states I want to take a closer look at the new 5.0. Ford is the only company left in America thats building good... not great, but good cars.

Yeah the C6, Z06, ZR1, CTS-V, XLR-V, etc are less than good cars.

Sorry but the Genesis ain't all that.

+1. The Gen is good but I'd take the Ford on most days.

I actually already put a deposit on a 2011 5.0. Ive tried the Genesis and didnt like it. It was actually between the mustang and the EVO X for me, but the 5.0L sold me. The challenger looks ugly and like everyone says, performance and pricing is not good. The Camaro is good looking and was also another choice of mine.

34witt, where in Korea are you? I work at Suwon/Humphreys/Osan. Maybe youve seen my s2k around.

I apologize for not including the C6 Vette.. and why did you group the C6, Z06, and ZR1 apart... aren't they all C6's? As for the CTS-V and XLR-V... I don't like them at all. Not saying there bad.. I just don't like them. GM isn't selling many either....

I don't know where I said the Genesis was "all that". I said its a wonderful car. Nothing in that particular statement says its perfect... or "all that". Read whats there... please don't add words.

Think you could hook a ride up in the s2k for my girl? She has never been in a car worth talking about.

How long have you been in Korea?

No they're not just all C6's. That's like saying the 599XX is just another 599.

I didn't claim you stated that the Genesis was "all that". Quit trying to play the literal game. You clearly said both the inline 4 and V6 Genesis models were "wonderful" right before you went on to say that Ford was the only American company making "good...not great" cars. You had to stress good under great while at the same time implying they were many levels below your "wonderful" criteria. In my eyes that is the equivalent of saying that the Genesis is all that compared to its lowly American counterparts. Which is of course a ridiculously biased opinion, but one you're clearly entitled to.

isn't 470hp/4200 lbs = 238hp/2100lbs
ie. a S2000 engine in a Lotus
I would call that fairly competitive.
