Default My Tesla Test drive 3/19

Today my friend and I got a chance to test drive a production Tesla roadster.

A few points about the car. They are up to production now. The 08s are coming out and there will be no official 09's, so the next model year will be 10.

The fit and finish were top notch and this test drive car had about 3600 miles.

We drove in the normal mode, so not the high performance mode hence the 0-60 being a little lower.

When we got the car it had very little juice left and since I test drove it like I'd test drive an s2000 the juice went quickly.

In person the car looks much better. It's wider than it appears in pictures.

In the video where you hear my voice, yes I sound funny. This particular camera really makes my voice strange.

Tesla next to the s2000 (It does not come with HID headlights).

The Tesla charger. The lights change color with the charge mode. If you lick the charger it will not shock you. Yes I asked this question. Yes I am a retard. Yes my friend, Chris, asked me if I really have an MD.

Beside the tesla. It does have LED rear lights.

Interior of the tesla. Tight space like the elise. The rep says it's bigger, but it's tiny compared to the s2000. The heated seats work well.

Interior with the top off.

Removal of the targa top.

Interior. Note wide entrance sill, but it's not hard to get into like the elise.

Cool door opening mechanism

It looks nicer than your old, beaten up silver S, Raj.

The pics and vids are nice, but how about some driving impressions? Are/were you thinking about buying one?

Raj, thanks for labelling the picture of the steering wheel. I'd have never known if you hadn't put the label under it.

Looks like a neat car. Not sure I'd ever blow $80K-$120K on one (do they have an official price yet?) but still...very cool.
