THIS! I take crap for driving a cheap sports car some days, but nobody notices my $50k diesel truck.

I do, but people can't comprehend it just like when they complain about being broke and I say no one forced you to sink 3/4 million dollars into having kids and then sign them up for travel ball...

Yeah or like guy with the fixed up jeep is an every man but I'm an elitist in my old vette. Nevermind the jeep cost more to buy, those mods are not cheap, weren't even installed by the owner, and hasn't seen a lick of dirt.
I just bought my third car in 2 years and people around me are like geez baller despite them knowing I'm frugal, so I educate them, I know my fun car is gonna sit in my garage because I have a paid for DD and understand the privilege of being to have a second car for just kicks, so I try to buy them on the flat part of the depreciation curve so I can catch and release it with little cost to me, vs buying a new Corolla (The benchmark of practicality and responsibility) and lose much more in the same time. My last three cars actually costed me nothing in total, made money on the s2000, lost a couple grand on the vette and just about broke even on the frs, minus insurance costs which was minimal since they were second cars.
My current car though... I know I won't be so lucky lol but I plan on holding onto this one as long as I can reasonably afford it and enjoy it.
For the record, I'm no baller, don't make alot, and am generally cheap. Consequently I have to be smarter with my money where I can.

Toronto puts on a great show- really extensive and shows off car culture better than Detroit.
