I have a sinking suspicion that Toyota dealerships are going to be very difficult about letting people test drive this car.

After @HawkeyeGeoff gave me a ride in his ZR1, I have a new appreciation for Corvettes. They're a fantastic value.

Watching some of the reviews, seems like the car is good and most of the reviewers are satisfied with it, but it didn't wow them either.
I'm sure there will be a ton of buyers just based on the supra name alone, it'll be the darling at the import meets everywhere. But I find it hard to pass on a c7 z51 over the supra, especially considering they're being discounted alot. I get a feeling the supra won't be as track durable as the vette either, smoking tire was already saying his brakes were getting hot which is not untypical for bmws.

Mid engine? (Yawn) Ain't nothing special. Calling these cars (including our S2000s) mid-engined is a stretch. "Real" mid-engine cars have the engine not only between the axles but behind the driver.

The Ford Model T is a mid-engine car, note the position of the engine and front axle in the photo below. This is what gives the Model T it's legendary road handling. All 2.9 liters of 4-cylinder road handling madness with 20 hp at 2000 rpm!!!

Lifelong car guy here, I was pretty excited about John Barnard's 640 F1 Ferrari with automated paddle-shifted gearbox (quite a while back in the last millenium...). Still seems like a GREAT idea for a performance car to me! However I chickened out when I recently bought a 987.2 Cayman and got a 6-speed manual based on fears of reliability of a used PDK and potential repair costs. In retrospect that may have been a mistake as what I got is one of the worst-shifting manuals I've ever experienced, and I'm having to replace the trans with a factory-reman for $$$$! Doh...

As Henry Ford once proclaimed, "It's all about that polar moment of inertia."

That sucks

After driving a manual 911 (991.2) and a PDK 911 (991.2) there's no way I'd buy a manual version Porsche.
