Default new respect for WRX

MY friend raced my other friend today. One has Type R one has 02' dubRx. I was sitting shotgun in the Type R almost 80% sure we were going to win...we lined up and dropped the clutch... the dubRx immediately JUMPED a fullc ar and continued to pull.. when we put it in third no one made ground or lost and he was about 4 cars ahead... TRULY AMAZING LAUNCH

When they first came out, i passed on the WRX (Like a dumbass) and bought a Type R.... God I hated the type R.....even with limited slip, the thing had no traction for streetracing. I got KILLED by a WRX before I could even get moving. I sold the Type R and got a typhoon (streetracing king).

WRX STI if the price is right, may be in my cards.

Dude, you thought a FWD car could keep up with an AWD car on the launch? Think again. Even a Porsche 911, with a rear engine, rwd configuration, cannot launch as hard as an AWD car.

That's the beauty of AWD ... But it's not all good news and good fun with AWD, trust me on that.

All I know is that they're not all that fast from a roll. I raced one a couple times Friday night. Easily beat him both times. Guessing it would have been closer from a roll.

The WRX isn't exactly wind cheating in shape either

it has the frontal area of a house!

Its really a sub 100mph car, where acceleration is quite good... its no highway terror, but then its mission wasn't that of a highway terror...

Pretty good potential for 13s and even 12s out of the WRX... but once you get over 100, it just isn't the same...

i TOTALLY AGREE.. however this is the first time i have seen one launch... at the races this same WRX raced a civic SI with intake and exhaust and squeezing an 80 shot and the WRX launched and beat him in the 1/4 mile however at like 110 the civic blew by him.. shows the weak third/4th gear....

You think that that's fast, wait until 2003. Mitsubishi is "suposedly" releasing the Lancer Evo stateside. If it's anything like the overseas Evo, betta watch out.
