Nissan canceling appearance at Detroit
Citing budget cutbacks and a lack of new vehicles to unveil.

Sucks. Not sure if I'm going to Chicago auto show this year. I was really looking forward to a first look at the 370z in person. I guess it will depend on what Honda brings out or if there are any other big unveiling's.

it's tough to see this stuff happening as a detroit myself.
first porsche dropped outta the show back in 03/04ish. they did it because they just didn't have enough sales in michigan to justify coming. that hurt enough, but now, Rolls Royce, Suzuki, Ferrari, Mitsubishi, Land Rover, and Nissan are all out of the 2009 North American International Auto Show. most hav all said they plan on coming back, but it's part of their company scaling back during these economic times.
