That gets old. It's rewarding hearing the flappy gearbox rev match on the way down, snapping gears off like Schumacher into Maggots.

So in other words you never mastered the manual gear box

You know the 370z has an auto rev match feature in their manual trans when you downshift and BMW has a great engine audio system as well. Lots of trick stuff these days for those who like to pretend.

On my manual cars, I want it a regular old manual. I would rather double clutch or rev match on my own. I like the hill start feature on the Porsche; not sure who else has the same feature. It does make starting on a hill easier and lighter on the clutch. When the paddles are good, I would rather have them than the manual. Not all paddles are good iterations of that style gear box. Our XE had an 8 speed ZF and it was lousy. The similar gear box on Maserati is fun.

As much fun as rowing through the gears on a big rig and double clutching is, I enjoy having modern syncros in my sports cars. Its more fitting right? ABS I could take it or leave it. Not a perquisite in ownership.

Ariel Atom. To me the best thing on the market for raw RWD. I'd love to have one.

Me too. They are expensive for a pure toy. The fact that motorcycles are so cheap makes it tough to rationalize.

I would give up my S2000 for my first S2000. I had that AP1 handling like a damn gokart. I've never driven another one like it including all of my students cars over the years. I miss you Rosie.

Not sure if you had a supercharger on that car but that added 70lb over the nose on your current will slow turn in down a little bit, not drastic but perceivable to a degree. Assuming you currently have an Ap2 the slower ratio steering rack will also slow down the sharpness and so will the softer rear sway bar and 80lb heavier weight of the car compared to the 00-01 ap1. Quite a few potential factors, most of which can be addressed though. Nothing magical about one s2000 over another, other then set up/tuning and nostalgia.
