Manual as standard (PDK option), and no back seats or infotainment, although both are also options... so you can have your "lightweight" 911 with all the normal 911 stuff.

Except that it's only 11lbs lighter than the base Carrera it's based on, and costs $11k more. I don't really get it.

Yeah I read the article and had the same thoughts. I rather get a 911 GTS variant. The GTS might not lose the 11 pounds though. Ohs no!!!!!!!!

Still begs the question. Why would anyone buy this over a GT4? GT4 too track focused for a 911 T buyer? 911 just that much more of a "status symbol" over a Cayman?

Porsche is betting that several hundred rich folks do.
Porsche has a pretty good record of not having to discount their products due to lack of sales, especially the limited editions.
Ergo, I think a few hundred people care. More importantly, a few hundred people with a spare $100K care.

It does have some extra options, but someone totaled them up and the T was still about $2k more. Funny/sad that they spec the 20" wheels on the "lightweight" version.

It would be nice to restore a vintage original 911T. Be an endeavor to keep it running. One of my many (non-fillable) bucket list items.
