porsche's new 7 speed dsg

Another advantage DSG will give you is not having a cable shifter(like the C6) enabling you to have a transaxle that can shift with the best of them.
I think the advantages far outweigh the loss of shifter and clutch.

As much as I love my MT's these trannys go a long way to minimize driver error on the track etc. I dont know how many time's I've blown an AutoX run because I grind the hell out of my 1-2 shift.

if you can get the functionality of a manual without the clutch pedal, explain why you wouldn't want that?

there are very separate purposes when driving a car and you have to decide which one is you: ease or fun. the s2000 or any sports car should not be anywhere near one of those.

I was looking at C&D where they have the Z06 and the 911 Turbo that both can do 0-100 in 18sec. or 19sec. The 7-speed M6 with SMG is right there with the turbo(19.5sec) dispite weighing 3900 lbs and having only 383-TQ (500-TQ for the Turbo).

I hope that you made a typo. 0-100 mph is in the 8-9 sec range for these cars. 18-19 sec 0-100 is Honda Civic Hybrid range.
