Reserved a Z06 next week..
Heading to Austin next week to get away and attempt to sell the better half on moving there. We rented a C6 Z06 for a day and are going to bomb around the hill country and such. I'm pretty excited! Any recommendations on local roads (I plan on hitting Lime Creek of course.. although the last time I was there a C5 Z06 in our group spun out and did some serious damage.. )

Make sure to drive Lamar from Parmer to downtown, during rush hour.
That will help your wife realize you need to live somewhere with easy access to / from work and downtown.

Why do you want to live in Texas? I was born there (Tarrant County) and can't stand the place. Between the heat, the bugs, the snakes, the hail storms, and the rednecks it doesn't have much appeal.

I was stationed in San Antonio and am ready to move back. Austin is a liberal Mecca and downright awesome city and the state has some great driving and tons to do. I can think of anywhere else I want to be!

Austin is cooler (well, less hot) in the summer and warmer in the winter.
We have something like 1/2 million + bats in town - they eat tons of bugs every night. Not much of a problem.
Snakes? I've ridden mountain and dirt bikes regularly here since '96, and can count the # of snakes I've come across in the wild w/ my fingers.
Hail storms? OK, I'll concede that one. We had 3 vehicles + the roof of our house hammered in '09. I had one other hail claim on my first S2000 about a decade ago.
Rednecks? Not very prevalent in Austin, and you might just get along w/ them if you treat them nicely and with respect. Only place I've ever visited w/ nicer people is Ireland.
Right now, the Colorado Rockies (Golden? Boulder is also nice but $$$) is one of the few reasonably-priced places I might rather live. There are plenty of cool places on the West Coast (San Diego, Bay Area, Portland, BC), but they have plenty of downsides, not the least of which is the cost of living.
Back to the original query, here's a handful of others to check out:
Bee Creek Road (even better than Lime Creek IMO)
Reed Parks Road in Jonestown
old Spicewood Springs is nice, just don't go too fast
Harris Hill Road (it's a road course in San Marcos, drop by and they'll prob. give you an hour on track to check it out).

Based on prior posts, I'm making a wild-ass guess that his better half is a guy. One more reason he may dig Austin, it's a liberal, gay and lesbian-tolerant town.
