This is ridiculous and awesome at the same time.

Fat pig has very little impact from a moderate roll - aero drag is a bigger factor much more quickly. Also remember that the BMW has an extra gear and is DCT so it's shifting faster and has more mechanical advantage than the Vette.
So, no real surprise that it keeps up. Similar power, better mechanical advantage, decent aerodynamics and faster shift times add up in a hurry...

So many memories of downloading M5board videos before the advent of youtube! They've been doing these straight line races for over 10 years now and it's always fun to compare different cars with different mods. In my opinion, I think it's pretty impressive to get a 4000+ 4 door luxury barge to keep up with a Z06 in a straight line. Yes, the Z06 will beat it in curves, blah blah, but for the people who actually buy a M5, for the most part, will be using it as a DD and on the street, a little stop light action or highway pulls is all the car will see.

as soon as it gets nice I am going for the rev limiter in reverse in the ACR...
Z06 did about 55mph in reverse...
where is the video of the acr doing it?

that is a pretty quick M5. My 2008 Z06 did 0-150 in about 17 seconds (i have a video somewhere) all stock. that is pretty nice to do that in a bloated 4 door sedan...

I'd take the bimmer over the z06 all day everyday: same performance but bimmer interior >>>>>> c6 interior
