Default Sporty Daily Driver Under 20k

What sporty daily driver would you choose with a 20k budget? Must be reliable, have 4 doors, and be somewhat comfortable! Used cars are fine.

Does it need to be a manual or you don't care? How would your order these in preference; refinement, performance, cost-of-ownership, reliability, and safety? Do you have a family> How many miles a year are you driving? Are you paying cash or financing?

Fiesta ST. I own a 2015 and enjoy driving it as much as my 16' GT350 and 04' 996T Cab.

I'd say Focus ST (used) over Fiesta ST - a little more refined, bigger and quicker and quieter as well.

VW GTI (used) is a great car - practical, decently quick, available with a good dual-clutch semi-automatic or a true manual transmission. Lots of mod potential (for cheap) if you want. They seem to be pretty reliable, especially if you leave them stock.

Civic Si sedan (used) is very reliable, decently fun and fairly fuel efficient plus lots of mod potential if you want to make it a little more sporty.

Subaru WRX - AWD, quick, reliability seems okay if you aren't modding or launching

I also vote for the 2010 Civic SI coupe. My brother has owned one for six years and he has not had any problems. My only criticism is that it has a lot of blind spots (in my perspective). Other than that, I think it is very comfortable, quiet, and zippy. He picked his up for 20,000 used back in 2010.

Ford Focus ST comes to mind first. You could be in one with a warranty. If you wanted something older, an Alfa 164 S is pretty ballsy and holds it value incredibly. You could get a top notch example for low teens and have a reserve to keep it as it should be.

I'd buy a new Fit w/ manual.
