TG America - Back?
http://transmission.blogs.topgear.com/2010...gear-usa-alive/
Huh?
Plus:
Its back to being a possibility
Its not on NBC, but History, so it may do better
Minus:
Nascar host
Does the comedian know anything about cars?

I am utterly disappointed, if everyone thought the first one was bad this one will be terrible, i was looking forward to Adam Carolla...
Top Gear will never work in the US... the automakers wont lend their cars if we give honest reviews, that is what Top Gear is about, testing a half million dollar car and then telling every little thing thats wrong with it.
sponsors wont put up with that over here.
Nascar guys hosting Top Gear... Really?

I'm with everyone who thinks it won't work over here due to the commercial aspect of our system.
But I am 100% totally against Adam Corolla or Jay Leno as one of the hosts. 1) I can't stand Adam Corolla and Jay, while a cool car guy would drive the humor in a completely different direction than the way TG does it now.
But who says we need real gear heads running the show. Do any of the 3 guys who host TG really come off as gear heads now? Yes, they appreciate cars, but it works because they come off as buffoons being set upon by the producers and each other. This just happens to take place in a car setting.

Actually, the top gear folk are big time gear heads, look at their backgrounds and what cars they own, they're just not professional mechanics or racers.
What's wrong with nascar? They do race on tracks that aren't ovals you know, but it would steer the show to be more... of a certain demographic.
I'd love to see Adam or Jay hosting the show, I find them both to be funny and come off as an every man. Problem is that they need at least 2-3 people. So we'll see.
