Default thoughts on Mustang GT

Hey guys, my brother is looking at mustang gt right now.
Which would you guys prefer?
2010 GT w/ $5,500 off msrp
or
2011 GT w/ no discount we're assuming.

Now the 2011 GT has 100 more hp and small upgrades.
He can get either one, but $$ does matter.

Simple question

thanks!!

'if he can wait a bit, say till next year at this time he shoudl be able to get a simular discount on a new 2011, perhaps by january?

i would opt for the newer car with the advanced engine and features, the discount is what he will loose by then if he buys a new 2010 now.

You need to own at least 100 shares of Ford Stock for at least six months to apply for X-plan pricing. Check to see if your employer has an agreement with Ford. A lot of them due. Even the University of Notre Dame does. I'm pretty sure you can use a relative's PIN as well. X-plan is even better when it is combined with rebates and incentives!

I just checked the X-plan pricing for the 2011 Ford Mustang GT. It is $28,076.

Pricing on a 2010 Mustang GT with current incentives is $25,402.

I was so freaking close to pulling the trigger on a 'Stang GT two weeks ago. The Mustang with the premium package(necessary) would cost me $30,014. I was looking at 3k off a car I had to order. Hot Damn! Ford takes care of their people.

I would go with the 2011. Might even consider the 11 with the v6, I believe it is only 10hp shy of the 10 GT v8. He would probably save in the long run on Insurance and operating cost. Or just wait a few months for a better deal on the 11 GT V8.

I have the X-Plan available. Is that price for the GT with leather, or the most stripped down GT?

Which price?

For the 2011 GT it will cost you 30,XXX for the GT premium. It depends what your zipcode says when you plug it into the configurator.

The absolute base 2011 GT will cost $28,076.
