Default Trade s2000 and ctsv for gtr?

Wife wants me to consolidate my garage. I have a 09 ctsv 04 s2k comptech supercharged and a hybrid civic. She gave me the green light to sell the ctsv and s2k for a used gtr or something around 60k like a 2010 z06. I also have a yamaha r6 that i ride when its nice out. Do you think it's a downgrade to trade in the s2k and ctsv for a z06 or gtr? I do autox and track my cars. Looked into used 911 turbo and gt3s but they are a bit out of my price range. what would you guys do?

To me the GT-R and Z06 are fine cars, but both are too strong of a particular "flavor" for a single do-it-all sports car.

I'd prefer something like a 997S.

Why does she want you to consolidate the fleet? Is it to save money or space? Seems like your current choices are well rounded.

Which car do you track? If it's just the s2000 and not the ctsv trading to one car will cost a bunch more if you continue to track as often. The costs to track an S2000 are minuscule to something like a GTR.

GTR all the way if you could afford it. I'm more of a quality of over quantity guy. Although some could argue the Z06 is a more "fun" car to drive since you pretty much have a R2D2 strapped to the GTR controlling every aspect per se.

I do not think I'd rather have a GT-R over a CTS-V and an S2000. I see the CTS-V and GT-R being aimed at a similar market and designed to do similar things. Both are heavy and bulky cars that feel big, but handle like nobody's business and are lightning quick. Yes, the GT-R does all those things better than the CTS-V, but in essence they are the same type of car.

Basically, you're looking for one car that has the raw power and abilities of a CTS-V with the nimbleness, revs, and tossability of the S2K. You need to get a Porsche 911S. Not only will it do all those things, but people say they are surprisingly comfortable for daily driving duties too.

Drive them both and see which one speaks to you. I do agree with s2kpdx01 though, if you're tracking the car, may be a good idea to look at the consumables before purchasing.

Nothing cheap tracking a GT-R. You may want to look into tire and brake costs.

Hell no. Both cars are more fun than a GTR.
