Default Turning an MGB into an S2000.

This is a new 1968 MGB body shell we are putting a full S2000 drivetrain. This thing is going to fly!

Thanks! I got it now. The real problem is I'm using an Apple and I'm unfamiliar with it.

Fun project. Can't wait to see it unfold. I have many fond memories of MGBs. "Safety Fast"!

Questions:

1. You have the engine tilted just like it is in an S2K - what about total overall engine height? Will you need to modify the oil pan?
2. How does the transmission look in reference to the seats? How high will the shifter be?

I know a thing or two about LBC's and find this very interesting... Look forward to more pictures!

Nice build!

It is the whole drivetrain and rear suspension. The front suspension is from Fast Cars Inc. With the engine back as far as it is it sits about an inch above the bottom of the crossmember and about two inches below the hood. Having it back so far puts the shifter about four inches behind it's stock location. Because of the car now having AC the dashboard had to be moved back so the steering wheel will be moved back and also the seat so the shifter is perfect! haha

You did well with the front suspension setup. MG's don't exactly have the best of front suspension settings and with such a sweet setup as you have put together here, not having a proper front suspension would have been a sad thing indeed...

Very nice indeed. Sure look forward to more...

I know what you are talking about regarding moving the engine as far back as possible. That will give you a very nice weight distribution. I don't mean to hijack this thread, but I know what I speak of...

Your setup will be quite amazing. I have roughly about the same horsepower in my TR6 - perhaps a little less on the RPM's but overall the weight distribution will be about the same. Please, keep adding more photos of your build!I
