What was your first car?
Just curious to see of all the S2000 and/or car guys and gals currently here, what got it all started for you?
I narrowly missed a 4-speed manual 1981 Buick Skylark to end up instead in a 1985 Accord se-i. Boxy, but perforated leather...not bad for a 16-year-old. Parents bought it for me for $3000 to get me started and boy did I feel lucky for it. Was a 12-year-old car at the time...last automatic I "owned" for over 10 years until I bought my Civic last summer. I was more of a punk kid at the time and not really much interested in driving/cars (I waited 6 months to get my license after I could)...took a couple of years for that to mature when instead of leasing a Grand Am GT coupe, I bought a 2nd-generation Integra instead...

Mine was a 1974 Plymouth Satilite Sebring Plus. It wouldn't go around corners, and got the same fuel mileage as a Winnabago, but I enjoyed it.It was in 1988 when I had it. I wish I had a picture of it now.

Wow, my first car was a brown 85 Accord 5 speed hatchback. The engineering in that car was absolutely amazing for its time.
The car was tight, had great steering and felt really sporty for what it was. It really did feel more at home the faster you went (up to a certain point of course).
I was 17 yrs old at the time in 1997, and the car was 12 years old. My oldest brother practically gave me the car for $200. Looking back it was a perfect first car, it was manual, a little sporty but only had 98 HP, so I couldn't get into too much trouble with it.
I wasn't really into cars at the time, I was just super psyched to have wheels. But it was the car that made me love Honda's and I have pretty much exclusively driven Honda's ever since (outside of my Ms3 I had for 3 years)
To this day, outside of my S2000 it was the best car I ever had. Honda's were truly special back then.
Funny I saw this thread that your first car was very similar to mine.
