Default When you were a kid, what was your first dream car?

I remember getting my first Hotwheels car when i was only 3 years old. (back in 1993) It was a white 1990 Ferrari 348 hard top!

I took that toy car everywhere with me. I remember telling my dad this: "When I grow up, I want a car just like this one!"

It was literally my first dream car. I loved it.

I wasn't like most other little girls, I was a gearhead at heart. I hated barbie dolls. They would look at me weird when I used to come over to my cousins parties because I was the only girl playing with Hotwheels cars and Legos. lol.

I used to make car noises "vroooommm!" "pshhhhh" while I was playing with it. I would put it on my Hotwheels race track and make it go off small ramps I made.

When I was 7, I found out my dad's boss actually owned a red 1990 Ferrari 348 convertible! He took me to go see it one day and I got a ride in it! It was amazing! The way it handled, the sound of the purring engine, the immediate throttle response. Just WOW. I felt like the coolest kid in the world that day.

I've been a sports car fan ever since. I actually still have that same car today, sitting on my top shelf in my bedroom!

What was your first dream car??? I wanna hear some stories!!!!

I guess it really depends on the age. In the early early 80's The Dukes of Hazzard had me wanting the General Lee, and Cannonball Run had me wanting the Firebird before I was old enough to really know much of anything about cars.

A neighbor in the Cul De Sac where I grew up had a vibrant blue MG T-Type (TF) in his collection. That car made a big impression on me and got me interested in roadsters and ultimately my S2k. The concept of a roadster just clicked with me. Fast, nimble and no roof. I found that the experience of owning and driving my S actually went well beyond my dreams of what having a roadster would be like.

The Countach, Testarossa and GT40 were pretty much the top cars that I would dream about as far as exotics went as a child. I recall seeing the Countach's on display at Casino's in Reno like Circus Circus when my parent's would take a trip out there. The car was so striking in appearance to me. Testarossa's were a much more uncommon site growing up in Oregon. I can still remember the first time I saw one on the road. I thought it was the ultimate sports car based on its looks and those menacing strakes. The GT40 I didn't see until much much later and only as replicas. Even to this day I find those three to look very striking and they have a special place in my heart. I had multiple die-cast cars of the above. Matchbox, Hot Wheels, etc as a kid.

Having recently seen the LaFerrari up close, leaning in the cabin, standing behind it as it rev'd, and getting to watch it on the track. I found myself completely mesmerized by a car in the same way I was as a kid, hoping that some day I could obtain one. The more things change, the more they stay the same I guess.

Like OP, also a white Ferrari. Tubbs and Crockett had a cool Testarossa. Those guys were cool. One of my life goal was to own a Testarossa or at least a Ferrari.
Like Micron, G Lee was pretty bad ass. Never want to own G Lee though. Not sure why.

I remember thinking the Covair was the coolest car. The engine was in the trunk. I do not remember anything when I was 3 or 7 guess they were mostly bad memories worth forgetting.

Lotus Esprit turbo SE. sexy. Until I finally had a ride in one. i'm 6 foot tall and it was tight, tight, tight, tight.
Soon after lusting after the Espirit, my buddy showed me an article in his European Car magazine with the newest Caterham super7 with the new 190 hp cosworth engine of some sort. Then i said, now that's a spicy meatball there. Then a few years ago I had a ride in a real Super7- it too was tight, but with the sky above and my knuckles dragging on the ground, I thought i would like this in my garage, parked next to a Ferrari F40. And just cause i'd have all the money in the world, i'd drive that F40 as a daily.
