Sure, maybe the Z4 is like sparkly magic to drive. But given their so-so efforts in recent years, I doubt it. A lot of a roadster purchase is about style and emotion, and it seems they've already lost that battle in the eyes of everyone here (and other places I've read).

Really, at that price, why wouldn't you get a Vette anyways? 
Sure, the Jag looks better but the Vette (esp. Grand Sport) looks fantastic, has way more performance and demolishes them with lower weight, more power, better acceleration, more grip, better brakes, etc.

Corvette has a lot of image to it. Some like that image or don't care; others are not fans of it. Similar to owning a car that has a strong association to it. You're lumped into the stereotype whether you want it or not.
The Corvette is a better sports car than the Jag or BMW; I don't think you'll find many objections to that.
