Default WHP of a stock Civic SI?

just interested in what the latest generation Civic SI actually puts out on a dyno?

When I first got to america I thought they were a higher Civic trim level like a corolla sport or something!

I was reading another honda board and people were realy rating them, saying they are better than a RSX type-s?

That can't be right if an RSX type-s is what I know as a DC5 Integra Type-R?

For me the only real civic Type-R is the breadvan we got in the UK: http://www.civictype-r.co.uk/

the new civic Si which is from 2006-2008 has 197hp stock. they usually put down 175-180whp. the Acura Rsx type S over here in the U.S. is nothing like the JDM spec Type R over in japan.

RSX Type S= 201hp
Integra Type R DC5= 220hp

Civic Si FG2/FA5= 197hp
Civic Type R FD2= 225hp

As usual in the US, we get the watered down version(s) from Honda

The 05-06 RSX-S with the K20z1 motor is the closest, loosely speaking here, that we get to the mighty K20A motor... Interior, exterior, suspension, etc., ummmm, not so much

The Si and RSX-S are close in performance #'s and speed/acceleration...

well in 2005 when the newly restyled RSX came out, the K20z1 was first rated @ 210 bhp stock(up from the previous Type S's 201 bhp)... then in 2006, same motor now, the #'s were 'SAE corrected' to 201 bhp.

Go figure

I guess it's kinda like how the '00-'03 F20c1/ '04-'05 F22c1 was rated @ 240bhp stock, then in 2006, once again, the figure for the same F22c1 was 'SAE corrected' to 237 bhp

I know its FWD but Ive always been suprised how much hp the s puts down having 240 at the crank while rsx and civic's only lose 15-20hp.. Originally, I dynoed my s at 194.

Is it mainly due to the FWD compared to RWD..
