while you're trying to decide where to spend your 20k, why not spend 2k on a VR-4 or Legacy B4 wagon and see if they tempt you to bank the money for a few months?

 

With a bit of chassis strengthening (and other tinkering) you can put an oldschool Porsche 911 engine in one of those.
That would be interesting.

running cost are petrol and rear tyres.

i am getting 16mpg but i have a heavy foot and i do a lot of stop start stuff.

tyres seem to be wearing about the same as the s2000.so about 8-10k per set. but i think they are about £150 each for the rears.

Legacy... Just got last of the old shape new off the stealer for under 20 (they gave 30% off) 3.0 was going for 25... road holding is fantastic... understated and full warranty...

 

I wasnt being serious it was a dig at someone who always recommends anything he drives at that time, ie an R26 Megane
