while you're trying to decide where to spend your 20k, why not spend 2k on a VR-4 or Legacy B4 wagon and see if they tempt you to bank the money for a few months?

Something more interesting than the usual-suspects perhaps?

This has plenty of room, a soft top and will no doubt be very 'interesting' to drive... with the added bonus of zero depreciation.

With a bit of chassis strengthening (and other tinkering) you can put an oldschool Porsche 911 engine in one of those.
That would be interesting.

Thanks for the ideas guys

MB: Cant go down the Evo route, family own a Subaru breakers yard, and I'd be shot if I turned up in an Evo

Soulcrew: I do actually like the idea of the Vxr8, and I'm not exactly a badge snob, I might look into them along side some of the others. Whats the servicing and running costs like on them?

Polemist: I had a look at those old Splitscreens.....HOW MUCH?!?!?!?!

Gaspode: I've done the pickup truck thing before (admittedly not a 500BHP one) but I have read about the Dodge Rams, and they a bit....wooly from everything I have read

Cheers for the ideas guys, keep em coming

thbis is the servicing price list from walkinshaw.

VXR8 Servicing

10,000 miles 20,000 miles 30,000 miles 40,000 miles 50,000 miles
£153.27 £153.27 £227.29 £153.27 £257.89

60,000 miles 70,000 miles 80,000 miles 90,000 miles 100,000 miles
£227.29 £153.27 £153.27 £227.29 £257.89

running cost are petrol and rear tyres.

i am getting 16mpg but i have a heavy foot and i do a lot of stop start stuff.

tyres seem to be wearing about the same as the s2000.so about 8-10k per set. but i think they are about £150 each for the rears.

Chrysler 300C estate.
No idea what they are like to drive, but I like the look of them.
That's a V6 in the link, but I think they come with a V8 Hemi too.

Legacy... Just got last of the old shape new off the stealer for under 20 (they gave 30% off) 3.0 was going for 25... road holding is fantastic... understated and full warranty...

I don't think you read the criteria properly
I wasnt being serious it was a dig at someone who always recommends anything he drives at that time, ie an R26 Megane
