Nice little video I found of the M3 vs s2000 and all - I know a few people who have bought M3's and come back to S2000's - relatively speaking I guess an SC S2000 is about the same performance as an M3 with equal running costs - it will be a weekend toy so shouldn't need too much looking after!
Evo 8 MR is equally tempting in this bracket...

Thoughts and comments on previous owners of the above models? ( I think I just want another S2000 - although the M3 and Evo itch have yet to be scratched - and Dans S2000 looks well tasty!

Is this car going to be a daily driver?

Nope purely a weekend car! I don't have a garage so anything I buy would have to sit on the drive, sometimes on the road.

Performance and running cost of an m3 are both significantly higher.

Thanks chilled, standard S is reasonable with running costs; what additional costs have the FI chaps seen other than consumables being used a lot faster!

M3 is fantastic, but parts and servicing are expensive and much more to go wrong.

An s is really cheap to run if you ignore insurance.

check the servicing costs/schedule and insurance cost of the Mitsi before you make your mind up

of the three, the S is likely to be easily the cheapest to run

leaving an EVO (especially) or M3 on the road will lead to trouble for sure and sleepless nights at best

I've owned both an S2000 and an EVO MR FQ300.

Both cars were great and I'm glad I scratched the 4WD Turbo Nutter itch but the S2000 has still been my favourite car.

The M3 running costs will be on a par with the EVO. Service intervals for the EVO are 4500 miles or 6 months plus the high tax bracket, petrol costs and inevitable need to modify it. I had mine up at 400 bhp for not too much cash.

Anyway, all great cars so whatever you choose will put a smile on your face!
