get a modern petrol. it will have a power band wider than a gnats cock and will not sound like a skeleton having a w**k in a dustbin when cold.

plastic,steel or wheely?

i have to know.

The reason you see so many x18d BMWs is due to the fact they are engineered to be below certain bands when it comes to BIK (I think) and/or VED...

So all the cheapskates buy them to save money because it goes just as well as the x20d but save them a fortune in tax (and no doubt) fuel...

It does amuse me when I see the x18d with M-Sport kit though...

it's simple. i want economy - diesel
i want something good to drive - petrol
It's OK to drive, power delivery reminds me a lot of my old MK1 GTI with a 1900 big valve or my 350Z - which you drive lazily day to day on the torque band.
Recently did Harrogate and back and felt fresh as a daisy eats up the miles painlessly.
We have three cars and this get chosen for the long trips.

Truly, I cannot think of a car I would be less happy in than a BMW 118d. Perhaps a Daewoo Matiz or a Rover 214 but I would be happier in a pink Nissan Figaro.

I hate these little things and I have no clue why.

A lady on my road had one. She absolutely loves it.

Then again it is shaped like her.
I find that is especially true of Renos and their drivers...
