My 120d doing a lap of the nurburgring. Pretty gentle as I'm not insured, but still, goes pretty well.

cheers chilled. i'm trying to track down a nice 2007/2008 M sport version. i really hate dealing with the idiots that sell cars though. think i was lucky with the guy i bought the S2000 off, he was amazing. so far i've had people try to scam me, dodgy sounding rude boys and the usual people that leave cars on autotrader/ebay/pistonheads that have already been sold!

Try your local dealer.
The AUC scheme is pretty good.
Often they price very close to the (inflated) private market anyhow.

well I bought one! 120d M Sport on a 08 plate (177bhp) in Le Mans blue (almost Monte Carlo blue!). I've only driven it from Cheltenham to Bristol, but so far so good. The ride isn't as harsh as a lot of people reckon, but since I'm used to an S2000 on 17" wheels most things are nice to drive over cobbles! i also kept looking at my watch to check the time on the way home, before realising that, unlike the Honda, the BMW has a clock! its funny how you get used to certain things.

Glad you got one. The ride is fine on M Sport 1 series ... as it is on 3 series ... people moan too much. My S2000 was far harder ...

I appreciate that this is an old topic (+1 for someone using the search function) but do you still have the car and got any advice for someone looking at getting one as got to retire the S now and the missus really fancies a 120d since she can't use the S as a company vehicle in her new job?

Same as above, thinking of getting one of these for the other half as a commuting car.
