350z rant
Does anyone know which month this year the update to the engine etc happened?
I am looking at the Z as a more sensible replacement (than a 4 year old Porker) and don't want to buy the less powerful model if I buy nearly new!

as i mentioned a few posts back the car i test drove on monday was a 55 plate and it had the revised engine (according to the salesman).
apparently there isn't really any noticeable difference between the 276 & 296 engines - a couple of breathings mods on the older one should alledgedly bring it up in line with the new one according to a guy i've been chatting to that has one.
the older engine also has more torque that the newer one - strange, but true.

Not sure, March I think.
MY06 can be easily identified by the LED rear lights.

With head ruling the heart the Z seems to be a sensible but fun option and something a bit different to the S.
Heh heh, another 350Z thread! Let's all start
ing the Nissan!
Actually, I quite like the 350Z too, it's one of a number of Japanese cars from MOTH (Manufacturers Other Than Honda) that I like. But I wouldn't change my S for one, or trade up to one when the S goes. I think it's an alternative to the S ie I would've bought it instead of the S2000.
Love the 350Z's engine and the weight of the controls. I drove a GT pack black coupe very briefly and it impressed me. Still prefer the S though, for the poise and balance.
Nice review, I'm with the others on speed however

The Z felt stabler on long straight american roads I am not saying the s doesn't feel stable its just louder and more scary.. the road where I tend to drive the s2000 fast in UK has bad wind too. I think my car might be a bit slow it is stock but not for much longer its having a vortech supercharger fitted right now

Sounds like a big bang waiting to happen...

I'd be finding out why your car is a bit slow before whacking a 'charger on it.

The tuner told me the car dyno'd 179BHP @ the wheels before they began installing stuff which seems a little low.
Thinking about it I do have 18" wheels on it that definitely are a bit bigger than stock so maybe its putting the speedo out a bit also... but @ 125mph GPS says 117mph ish.
