The Vectra bits are like a bad Chinese joke; rubbery.

GM relating to crops; I approve of.

GM relating to cars; dangerous pseudo-science.

Same as every other bloody Alfa.

Form over function.

I don't know what the new ones are like as I've not had the misfortune of driving one yet, but the old gen Alfas were bad to drive and worse to own.

Due to an inherant design fault, the old Spiders and GTVs wear through their rear bump stops every few years, if they aren't checked out it causes chassis damage. Do you really want to own a car capable of that?

Sorry but the old 'It's part of the character of the car' arguement doesn't cut it with me.

Same goes for TVRs, Fiats, and anything French.

I looked around it at Goodwood FOS with CTR too - not bad, but it is an Alpha it will fall apart and break down a lot. and I agree about the P/W ratio - rubbish!

It even looks FWD and clumsy though. At least the old GTV looked sporty, this one could be a Megane, Astra or Focus with different headlamps and grille, IMO.

Ouch!!!

As much as I love that design (and they do look much better in the flesh), I don't think I could live with one every day if that's how Alfa stick their cars together.

When all the car manufacturers where busy buying each other a few years back, I was hoping one of the German marques might have purchased Alfa and started to build them properly. Then they'd be worth a look by now.

In fairness Alfa have moved on an awful lot from the previous generation Spider / GTV - I mean, they were based on a Tipo chassis FFS - how old is that??!?!
