Default Are Audi launching an S2000?

Just saw this in the Car website

Audi R3

[QUOTE]the Audi R3 could arrive in five years' time, with four-cylinder power to take on the Mazda MX-5 but not enough grunt to tread on the toes of Porsche

Looks in principle, shame about it having too many engine choices - it's the one good thing about the S IMO

Nope. I think it looks like it's been in one too many fights. And lost.

5 years time? We'll probably be at $200 a barrel by then.
It will probably be covered in solar panels with a bank of batteries in the boot by the time it is released..

I'll take the less-pretentious VW version, thanks.

On second thoughts, all that badge-engineering's put me right off.

Why is it that anything with an Audi badge just puts me off a bit? Just never special enough.

Even the RS4 doens't excite me like the M3.

They are great quality cars, but just dull to drive from my brief experiences. Apart from my Audi 100 executive panzer wagon, which has that old feel about it

If that was NA and RWD then maybe, but it will have that same old 1.8T engine and that dull AWD transmission. A TT on steroids. It will never be an S2000.

Especially as all Aldi's now look the same. I have mistaken many A4's for new TT's from the front perspective...and an S5 isn't far from looking like an R8 from some angles. Owned 2 TT's and while they were competent and road fast there was no real fun to be had.

Audi - spend a lot, live a little.

This is true.

I think they look great, just a lot of them are all the same as you say.

I do like the way they have started making the bottom of the range stuff look like it's not bottom of the range. Some of the boggo estates look really smart. I think Merc have started doing this too. I keep seeing C class things which could be the big 6.3 AMG or just a 2 litre from some angles.

A bit OT, but for example:

C 220 Diesel

C63 AMG

They seem to have smartened the base models up and lost the palstic tat.
