Unhappy Audi TT RS

After test driving the Audi TT roadster at the end of last year, I was left really disappointed. It just wasn't involving enough, shame the RS couldn't live up to the name...

The TT has been a succesful spin-off; they've done a good job of creating a Boxster-rival (in TC Mits' perception!) from and old Golf & a 4WD system. Why change the formula? Up the plastics trim grade & the selling price from one segment above its platform size, people will buy them.

So successful in fact, I wouldn't entirely be surprised if the S2000 successor isn't an old Civic with the Acura RDX's powertrain installed. The Accord/TSX's trim grade is a bit too egalitarian, shall we say, so they won't be able to install that & do the 'Teir 2 trick'.

I still think the boggo 2.0T FWD version is the best version.

It's a vastly improved and better looking MK5 Golf GTI IMO.

It's good fun because it's relatively light and fun to drive.

I can't help feeling that the TTRS has a ridiculous price tag for what you get?

Such a let down!
I've always liked the RS cars.
Loved the RS2 and both RS4's
Would have considered an RSTT if they had gone proper mental
This just seems like the learnt from Honda on the CR S2000
"Hmmm what parts do we have in stock we have not used on this car yet?"
