Intelligence and weath are most definitely NOT correlated!
I wouldn't say he was thick, but he isn't intelligent, that much is obvious.
Beckham is where he is because he was/is marketable.
And no, i'm not buying/listening to the media hype here.
One thing I will say is that he seems a genuinely nice bloke which also displays a distinct non correlation with wealth!

i agree with Hyper, Becks has made some canny decisions, he's not smart clever but he's clearly very savvy, something a lot of intelligent people aren't.
bloke who lives next door to me is not very intelligent but he's sharp as a tack and never misses an opportunity to make cash, he drives a DB9 and has a rather nice house.
I've got a degree in molecular biology and drive an S2000.. and it's getting old

I have a degree in Computer Systems Engineering and one in Aeronautical Engineering. If you believe all that IQ bullshit, i'm plenty past genius.
My younger brother has none of these and earns more than I do.

You can't call Becks to me.
He was a great player for Utd. He's a great role model for the kids. A good loking ba$tard with loads of money, who seems like a genuinely decent bloke.

Exploited his talent, yes.
Car clearly not to everyone's taste but unlike many footballers it's not a Hummer, a Lincoln or a Bentley convertible.....he probably already has those.
