Bikers
The latest thing I've noticed over the last 6 months or so, is bikers who are cornering just on their side of the white line (ok so far), but they don't seem to realise their bodies are hanging over onto my side of the white line.
Not good when you're near the white line yourself !
And on blind bends

[QUOTE=98RON,Apr 14 2009, 08:33 AM] Biking has changed a lot over recent decades. And so have the bikers...... I rode year-round for 12 years mid-70s to late 80s usually on Z900/Z1000 with old leather jacket, jeans and balck ankle-length 'biker' boots. Each of the large group of us (all notably - and in stark contrast to today - late teens and early-mid-20s) did circa 20K miles p.a. and went all over the place sleeping rough in farm buildings, bus shelters, pub carparks etc. loads of festivals, Kent Custom Show etc. etc. Great times? I think so!
These days it seems to be all about being middle-aged, owning the latest GSXZRXCBRRRRRRXXZZZRR sportsbike and obligatory garrishly-coloured

During the recent good weather I've seen more bikers on the roads, in the same way that I've seen more cars with their tops down. It's more noticeable at this time of year I guess as there's an initial peak because the majority have had their bikes locked up for the winter. Doesn't excuse the poor riding of course.
Knowing how soft and squishy I am made me a very careful biker when I had two wheels, and that memory has (i think anyway) made me a more considerate driver as a result. If only everyone had a social conscience on the roads, then perhaps they'd be a little more fun and a lotsafer.

I constantly see Mundano Dad rebelling against his life by undertaking or cutting up and generally driving like his single brain cell is otherwise occuppied in his Turbo Injection diesel.
I rode in yesterday, I'm a novice rider but don't get upto daft antics, i did see one bike riding like a terwat, he was on one of those long way round type things only a KTM not a beemer, with full ally boxes on and he overtook me and a car and missed a bollard thingy by about a foot with a huge swerve.
I see many more sh1t car drivers but i also see many more cars.
I think if IQs improved the problem would lessen but we seem to be going the opposite way

A percentage of bikers are idiots
A percentage of car drivers are idiots
There are more car drivers so we see more idiots in cars - no surprise there!
I'm pleased the number of moronic bike riders we see at the moment has finally obliterated the myth that
car drivers=rubbish
bikers=skilled
I'm generally less bothered by moronic bikers because it's less likely they will kill me than a car driver
Every weekend round here a biker dies
Seems like a tragic waste of life to me
